Cykelkokken

A unique experience captured in print

BACKGROUND

Unfolding the story of Cykelkokken

CYKELKOKKEN (The Bicycle Chef) is a culinary concept on two wheels. Behind it is Morten, a passionate entrepreneur who comes from a family where the love of good food and cooking was a focal point. He wanted to make a book as a tribute to his great-grandparents, who left him their food memoirs and recipes and have it serve as a giveaway for guests.

The man behind Cykelkokken: Morten.

Old notebook from his Great grandfather (1906) and recipes passed on from his Grandmother (1935).

1935: Recipes passed on from his Grandmother.

A conversation starter

CYKELKOKKEN wants to give something to his guests that they can both use and interact with along the way, as well as talk to other guests about and ultimately keep as a memory of the unique experience. A gift that can tell his story, convey his philosophy and at the same time leave room for the guest's own, personal notes.

The book is placed in a personal shoulder bag with silverware and wine glass.

Make it
your own

The book had to provide a personal experience and therefore be flexibly composed, so that the chronology could be arranged as needed and parts of it could stand alone. It was a requirement to produce it at low costs in a size that could fit into the small shoulder bag that guests are given for their silverware and wine glasses.

Tour Journal

Easy to update, easy to replace.

The book itself consists of elements that can be put together as needed. Tour sheets of information and storytelling.

  • ”Ruby&Red really understood how to turn vision into reality, and created a give-away that isn’t only a useful tool, but also a personal keepsake that tells the story of our urban escapes in the most beautiful way. The booklet isn’t just a practical guide, but a work of art.”

The dust jacket

City map + recipes

The dust jacket has a beautifully designed city map on the back including one of CYKELKOKKEN's personal recipes. A rubber band keeps it ruggedly together, inspired by the Chef’s old recipe books handed down in generations.

Every journey is tailored to fit the weather, the current city andscape and Morten’s impulses. The guests can draw the route of the day on their own map.

Flyer

Stand alone

A folded flyer that can be added as an insert in the book or stand alone as an extended business card.

Notebook

Go off the grid

The blank pages are for the guests themselves. CYKELKOKKEN aspires to go offline, take notes and create a memory that can be revisited.

Unpacking the whole experience.
