Svajerløbet, Coffee Table book

Love of bikes and city culture

For people with greasy, oily hands celebrating cargo bikes

THE BOOK “SVAJERLØBET “, 221 PAGES OF PROPER OFFSET PRINTED BOOK.

At svaje to sway and swing
Attributed to the strenuous upper body movement and often erratic driving from the bicycle delivery boys on their long and heavy bikes.

Svajerløbet is pretty straight forward. Just like in the good old days when the delivery boys, svajerne, swarmed the streets of Copenhagen. Once a year on Israels Plads they got together and competed for honor and the right to boast and brag. Svajerne put on their Sunday best, rolled up the sleeves and challenged each other in a bout of daunting bicycling skills and bravery. In 1960 the last historic Svajerløb was held in Copenhagen.

But the race is back…

“All cargo bikes are beautiful”

Svajerløbet is for everyone - both people and bikes.
Regular enthusiast as well as designers testing their latest prototypes in the race.
A testament to the prestige as well as the community.

”Style over speed!”

The story is told through Anders Hviid-Haglunds' photographs from the past 8 years of the modern version of Svajerløbet.
